Halloween Night -- Friday October 31st -- Swing Time presents... Swing Is Dead! Costumed characters, zombie swingsters, and undead dancers will converge upon the spooktacular vintage Grand Ballroom of Centro Asturiano in Tampa for this Halloween dance party! The party features a costume contest with $250+ in cash & prizes, plus loads of chocolate, candy & trick-or-treats! The night starts with a swing dance lesson 8-9pm (no partner needed), followed by dancing 9pm-1am to the ultimate Halloween swing/dance music mix! Admission is $7 with costume or $10 without. Swing Is Dead features special Halloween decor & atmosphere, plus door prizes, costume parade, a steal-dance mixer, and the monster shim sham! All ages are welcome! Centro Asturiano is located at 1913 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa FL 33602 (at the corner of Palm Ave. & Nebraska Ave. in Ybor City).

Starting this Wednesday, celebrate your birthday at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night, and your admission is free! Here's how it works. Just show your driver's license (or equivalent photo ID with your birth date) at the door to get free admission. This offer is valid within 6 days of your birthday. That means if your birthday's on a Wednesday, free admission is valid the night of your birthday. But if your birthday's on any other day (Thu Fri Sat Sun Mon Tue), you can celebrate it the Wednesday before or the Wednesday after (but not both). Limit one birthday admission per year per person. This offer is valid Wednesdays only.

See the DJ to reserve a special birthday dance jam, or even better, email us notice of your birthday celebration a week or two in advance and we'll try to announce it in the email newsletter. If you have cake, decor, food, or other birthday things to set up, we'll reserve tables for your party and they're welcome to decorate the tables. They can even show up early, as early as 6pm, to set up. (Doors open Wednesdays at 6:45pm; Dance Lesson starts 7pm.) If you need any other special arrangements, just email back. We want your celebration to be the best!

LINDY BASH WEEKEND: Swing Time is teaming up with USF's Swinging Bulls for the Lindy Bash Weekend. The weekend kicks off Friday night, November 7th, at Centro Asturiano with the Swing Time! 1940's USO Swing Dance, our Veteran's Day tribute featuring the 18-piece Ten O'Clock Big Band! Then the Swinging Bulls take it away Saturday and Sunday with 2 days of Lindy Hop workshops and dancing! Stay tuned for more info on the 1940's USO Swing Dance.
