Friday, May 14th is the Swing Time! SOCK HOP at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom.  (See Below)

West-Coast Swing Bonus Lessons start this Wednesday, May 5th, 6-7pm at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night!  Every Wednesday in MAY, the 6-7pm Bonus Lesson topic is West-Coast Swing with instructors John & Tina.  That's followed by East-Coast Swing Dance Lessons 7-8pm with instructors Sam & Carleene, and Swing Music & Dancing 8-11pm.  (Every Wednesday in JUNE, the 6-7pm Bonus Lesson topic will be Balboa.)  Admission to Wednesday Swing Nights is just $7, which includes 2 Free Lessons and great all-around fun for all ages!  No partner is needed.  STUDENT SPECIAL -- Show school ID, pay your $7 admission, and receive a Free Pass good for any upcoming Wednesday!  (Details Below)

Wednesday, May 12th, Swing Time hosts a Jack & Jill Dance Contest at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night with two divisions, Amateur & Advanced.  Winners get free passes to Swing Dance USA!  (See Below for Details)

Friday, June 25th, Swing Time's Dancers perform at the Dancers4Cancer benefit at the St. Petersburg Coliseum.  This event features live music by Terry & the Pirates, plus lots of dancing and more!  Click above for tickets or more info.  Come out, dance, and support this great cause... all proceeds benefit the Gulfcoast Oncology Foundation.

at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night
Two Divisions -- Amateur & Advanced
Winners get Free Passes to Swing Dance USA
Contest Starts 10pm Sharp!

1st Prize in Each Division:  2 Friday Night Tickets AND 2 Saturday Workshop Passes to Swing Dance USA -or- choose two $80 discounts off the Ultimate Weekend Pass (makes the Ultimate Weekend Pass only $49/advance)

2nd Prize in Each Division:  2 Friday Night Tickets to Swing Dance USA -or- choose two $50 discounts off the Ultimate Weekend Pass (makes the Ultimate Weekend Pass only $79/advance)

Contest entry is free (with paid admission to the Swing Night).  May 12th's Gulfport Casino Swing Night starts with a West-Coast Swing Dance Lesson 6-7pm, followed by an East-Coast Swing Dance Lesson 7-8pm, and Swing Music & Dancing 8-11pm.  Admission is just $7, and students get 2-for-1 Admission!  All ages are welcome!

Contest Rules - Sign up at the Gulfport Casino entrance the day of event.  Dance any style of swing, but you must dance lead-follow (no routines).  Individuals will be paired with 3 randomly selected partners to dance to slow, medium, and fast songs lasting up to 1 minute each.  If finals are needed, top individuals will advance, where they'll be paired with one randomly selected partner to dance to a song lasting up to 2 minutes.  Songs will be chosen by the DJ.  In the event of an uneven number of leads and follows, later registrants may not be eligible to compete.  A minimum of 5 leads and 5 follows must enter each division; otherwise, divisions will be combined into a single contest.

Amateur Dancer - an individual who has not been contracted to teach and has not placed 1st or 2nd in any major national 3-day swing dance competition.

Advanced Dancer - an individual who has several years of dancing experience, or a dance instructor, or a national dance competitor.  You MUST enter the Advanced division if you have finished 1st or 2nd in a Pro division or 1st in an Amateur division at any major national 3-day swing dance competition.

Swing Dance USA is held Memorial Day Weekend at the St. Petersburg Coliseum
