This Wednesday, July 7th is POSTCARD NIGHT at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night!  Celebrate the arrival of the new Swing Time postcards -- bring your address book and write someone and we'll mail it free!  Whether it's friends, family, coworkers, or anyone you think might be interested in swing dancing, just write them a note (ie "Having a blast... Wish you were here!") and drop your postcards in the box at the front desk.  We'll provide the postage and mail them for you anywhere in the U.S.A!  Know troops overseas?  We'll also mail the postcards for you to any APO/FPO U.S. military address.

PRETZEL NIGHT 2010 -- Next Wednesday, July 14th.  In honor of that much loved and sometimes reviled swing-dance move, The Pretzel, Swing Time presents... Pretzel Night 2010!  Free pretzels for everyone!  (Beer can be purchased at the bar to go with your pretzels.)  Enter the prize drawing to win free passes and free chocolate-covered pretzels!  Learn a variety of pretzelly moves in the 6-7pm & 7-8pm dance lessons!  (See description below.)  What started as a dance lesson has now gotten way out of hand... come experience the craziness next Wednesday, July 14th!

In celebration of Pretzel Night 2010, Swing Time is offering an in-depth look at that fun & twisty dance move, the Pretzel!  But wait, there's not just one pretzel, but pretzels come in many varieties...  We'll cover the Men's Pretzel, the Men's Reverse Pretzel, the Ladies Pretzel, the Ladies Reverse Pretzel, and Back-to-Back Switching.  Plus you'll learn everything you need to know to dance those pretzels, including the East-Coast Swing (6-Count) footwork and armwork, good pretzel timing & technique, plus various turns that you can do on their own or as a lead-in/follow-up to the pretzels!  We'll teach one set of pretzelly moves during the 6:00pm lesson and a completely new set of pretzelly moves during the 7:00pm lesson.  You can take either lesson by itself or take both for the most fun!  No prerequisites; no partner is needed.  Swing-Dance Lesson 6-7pm (Pretzels Part A)... Swing-Dance Lesson 7-8pm (Pretzels Part B)... Swing Music & Dance 8-11pm.

CELEBRATE SINATRA...  Saturday, July 31st, one of Tampa Bay's premier parties -- Ken Walters' 13th Annual Celebrate Sinatra -- happens at the Ritz Ybor, 1503 East 7th Ave in Tampa.  This black-tie optional affair celebrates the life and music of Frank Sinatra, with dancing to the sounds of Tom Tiratto and the 13-piece Joe Stagi Orchestra.  In addition, Lisa Casalino and Paul Phillips perform with the Latin Lovers in the Copa Room.  The event runs 9pm-1am and features passed hors d'oeuvres by Bernini, complimentary signature vodka martinis the first hour, a cash bar, and valet parking.  Join Swing Time and a who's who list of Tampa Bay personalities for this grand celebration!  Reserve your tickets now... visit the above link for tickets or more info.

Lindy Hop I  (9-10pm)
Comprehensive Beginning Lindy Hop Course!
Swing Time's Lindy Hop I course is Tampa Bay's most comprehensive introduction to Lindy Hop!  Unlike those "free" classes you might have taken, we start from the very beginning and build on that foundation, week after week, for eight weeks!  We allow lots of time in class for practice, to ask questions, and for personal interaction with the instructors.  After eight weeks of classes and practice, you'll not only know your first 10 Lindy Hop moves, but you'll be dancing the dance!

Lindy Hop II  (7-8pm)
The Ultimate Intermediate Lindy Hop Course!
We call Lindy Hop II "the ultimate intermediate lindy hop course" because there's no other course of study that even comes close.  Mastering Lindy Hop II will bring your lindy hopping on par with intermediate-level lindy hoppers across the globe.  You'll learn fast lindy hop techniques, gain expertise in all major lindy-charleston variations, get a foundation for swing aerials, and learn lots of cool moves to boot!  So get ready to challenge yourself and kick your dancing up a notch with Lindy Hop Level 2!

"At the Hop" Routine  (8-9pm)
Choreographed Intermediate-Level Lindy/Swing Routine!
"At the Hop" is an exciting and challenging intermediate-level Lindy/Swing choreographed routine, done to 1950's mega-hit song "At the Hop".  This routine is great for team AND one-couple performances, and it's a Swing Time original choreography.  Learning the moves in the routine will greatly expand your dance skills, to say the least.  This is the same exciting routine Carleene & Sam entered at Swing Dance USA!  (Take a look!)  The team version of "At the Hop" is also very cool and we hope to have a team of dancers capable of performing it... perhaps this New Year's Eve at the Coliseum!

About the Instructors:  Sam & Carleene have traveled the U.S.A. dancing and studying with the major instructors and legends of Lindy Hop.  Now they bring this expertise to you in the Lindy Hop I & II courses!
