This Friday MAY 11th, Swing Time presents ROCK'n'ROLL FRIDAY NIGHT featuring THE IMPACS, live at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom... kicking off our 2nd-Friday-of-each-month live-band dance!  For anyone who's never seen The Impacs, let me just say they are the real deal.  Last time they played for us (August last year), it was an exciting time with hundreds of dancers swinging the night away ...and the band was amazing, with such incredible talent and energy!  It was the first time I've seen a band play an entire evening -- 3+ hours straight -- without taking a break!  Be sure to catch The Impacs live this Friday!  --Sam

Original Rock'n'Roll stars, THE IMPACS, formed in 1961 and rocked the USA from Florida to California!  In addition to their own hits, The Impacs became well known for their faithful renditions of other artists hits... so much so that The Impacs backed the great hit-makers of 1957-1964 as part of that famous traveling roadshow, Dick Clark's Cavalcade of Stars!  Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Roy Orbison, Jan & Dean, The Coasters, Ray Stevens, The Everly Brothers, and many more... when these artists came to Florida, The Impacs were their band!  The Impacs recorded three albums and 13 singles on Dick Clark's Cameo/Parkway Records, King Records, and two of their own labels.  Now celebrating their 50th Anniversary, The Impacs return to the same Gulfport Casino where they played teen hops in the early 60's to capacity crowds!  Get ready to rock and roll!

TEEN SWING DANCE
at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom

Friday, June 1st, 2012, Swing Time & City of Gulfport present a TEEN SWING DANCE at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom!  The dance is open to teens ages 13 and up, and no partner is needed.  It features a Dance Jam & Contest, with prizes to the winners.  Retro swing attire is encouraged, but any appropriate dressy attire is welcome.  Doors open 7pm, followed by a Swing-Dance Lesson at 7:15pm, and dancing 8-11pm.  Admission is $7.  Door prize giveaways happen throughout the evening.  Snacks and soft drinks are available for purchase.
