This SAT July 28th is Ken Walters' 15th Annual CELEBRATE SINATRA! One of Tampa Bay's premier parties, this black-tie optional affair happens at the Ritz Ybor, 1503 East 7th Avenue in Tampa. Celebrate the life and music of Frank Sinatra with dancing to the sounds of Tom Tiratto's 17-piece big-band orchestra with Ashley Locheed and Paul Phillips. In addition, the Latin Lovers perform in the Copa Room. The event runs 8pm-1am and features passed hors d'oeuvres by Bernini, complimentary signature vodka martinis the first hour, a cash bar, and valet parking. Next WED August 1st, CHARLESTON LESSONS start 6-7pm at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night! Half of swing dancing is Charleston, so expand your swing-dance repertoire by adding dozens of Charleston moves, steps, kicks, and techniques! Next FRI August 3rd is the final TEEN SWING DANCE of the summer! Open to ages 13-19, this is the only dance of its kind in the entire USA, but it needs your help to continue in the fall. If you're a teen (ages 13-19), all you have to do is attend, spread the word, and bring others. If you're a parent, grandparent, youth leader, teacher, etc, then please spread the word to your teens, or even better, bring them out! This dance has been very well received by the 100 or so who've attended, but it needs greater attendance to continue in the fall!

FRI August 10th, Swing Time CELEBRATES THE 1960's! Original rock'n'roll artists The Impacs bring their entire 1960's repertoire of hundreds of songs, including Beach/Surf hits, Motown, Twist & Fad dances, Impacs originals, and more! By popular demand, the band has vowed to play one song at a time, thereby allowing dancers to change partners. Speaking of the '60's, The Impacs lived it, making their start playing teen hops at hot spots like the Gulfport Casino, touring the USA as part of Dick Clark's Cavalcade of Stars, recording 13 singles, and backing famous singers ranging from Roy Orbison to Jan & Dean! On Friday, August 10th, The Impacs bring the 1960's back to the Gulfport Casino! Be sure to dress 1960's-style...and limber up for that limbo contest! The event starts with a swing-dance lesson 7-8pm and continues with live music & dancing 9pm-midnight. Doors open 7:45pm.
