Tickets are selling rapidly for Swingin' the New Year featuring Mitch Woods & His Rocket 88's! Only 25 tickets remain in the Swing Time section...get them, first-come first-serve, at this Wednesday's Gulfport Casino Swing Night. Or buy tickets online...if you want to be near the Swing Time section, buy online tickets in Section B (right-hand side of Coliseum) as close to the stage as you can get. NEW ALCOVE OPTION — Purchase an alcove for a $99 rental fee and a 10 ticket minimum (at $28 per ticket after group discount). The SuperSpecial option is also still available, where we'll waive the alcove rental fee if you buy 28 alcove tickets. Balboa Lessons happen every Wednesday in December, 6-7pm, at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night. Balboa is currently the top dance craze in the swing-dance world. Swing Time instructors, Sam & Bri, have traveled the USA the last two years, studying and dancing Balboa at every opportunity. We're bringing you a brand new set of Balboa lessons in a fun, easy-to-learn format, with plenty of new moves and patterns each week for beginning- to intermediate-level Balboa dancers. This Saturday December 19th is Jazz Night in Tampa, a dance where you can Lindy Hop or Balboa (or Shag, Charleston, Shim Sham, etc) all night long! Dance to the best of Big Band and Traditional Jazz, featuring multiple DJs from all across Florida! Jazz Night includes a Balboa Lesson 8-9pm featuring special guest instructor, Andrea Kugelman. Andrea has been dancing Balboa over 10 years, and travels the country attending the best Balboa workshops available. She recently won second place in the Amateur Jack & Jill at Music City Shuffle (she's in the white dress). Dancing happens 9pm-Midnight+. Doors open 7:45pm and admission is $8 (which includes both the lesson and the dance). Jazz Night happens at Simone Salsa, 8336 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33615 on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Swingin' the New Year proudly presents...boogie-woogie piano legend, Mitch Woods, who's traveling all the way from California to rock the house LIVE on grand piano at the spectacular St. Petersburg Coliseum! Mitch is joined by his band of swinging rhythm section and horns, the Rocket 88's, who will kick the Coliseum Ballroom into high gear, as they jump & boogie, rock & swing the place like you've never seen! From swingin' New Orleans rhythm & blues dance grooves (in the style of Fats Domino and others), to soulful ballads, to rockin' high-energy originals, Mitch Woods & his Rocket 88's deliver music that'll make you want to jump up and dance!

SWING TIME SECTION — We've reserved a central block of the best seats in the house for Swing Time regulars, and are selling these Wednesdays at the Gulfport Casino Swing Nights, while they last! Buy one of these tickets and you'll be among friends and fellow dancers. Tickets in the Swing Time Section are available exclusively to dancers who attend (and purchase them in person at) prior Swing Time events. Tickets in the Swing Time Section (while they last) are $28 if purchased this Wednesday 12/16, $29 on Wednesday 12/23, or $30 on Wednesday 12/30.

Food & Drinks: You may bring your own food to this event, or purchase a variety of snacks from the Coliseum's snack bar (everything from popcorn to ice cream to coffee). For drinks, the Coliseum will run a full cash bar, with beer, wine, mixed drinks, soft drinks, bottled water, and champagne. No outside beverages are allowed into the Coliseum, and no coolers are allowed.
