Hi Everyone,

This Wednesday, September 9th, is the Gulfport Casino Swing Night, with Triple Time -- Advancing Your Swing Lessons 6-7pm, followed by Swing Dance Lessons 7-8pm, and Swing Music & Dancing 8-11pm.  Admission to Wednesday Swing Nights is just $7, which includes 2 Free Lessons and great all-around fun for all ages!  No partner is needed.   STUDENT SPECIAL!  Show school ID, pay your $7 admission, and receive a Free Pass good for any upcoming Wednesday!

Time is running out to register for Swing Time's Thursday night courses -- only a few spaces remain!  If you haven't yet signed up for Lindy Hop I, Lindy Hop II, and/or Dance Team I, register online right now.  Or, your last chance to register will be this Wednesday at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night (bring your check to Pat at the front desk).  After nearly a year of preparation, Swing Time's lindy hop courses and dance teams are ready to roll!  We hope you'll be part of this exciting addition to Tampa Bay's swing-dance scene!

Friday, October 2nd is Swing Time's 9th Anniversary Celebration at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom, featuring live & swingin' music by Charlie Vegas & the New Blues Combo, plus a Jack-&-Jill Dance Contest at intermission with $100 Cash 1st Prize!

Triple Time -- Advancing Your Swing will be the 6-7pm Bonus Lesson topic the four Wednesdays, September 9th - 30th at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night.  Kick your dancing up a notch with triple-time swing!  Triple-time swing forms the basis for most advanced swing dancing (including Lindy Hop, West-Coast Swing, and advanced East-Coast Swing), for the simple reason that if you add more steps, you can perform more intricate moves.  But triple-time is not just steps; it's a whole new attitude of dancing!  In these classes, we focus on movement.  We'll show you how to easily impress your partner.  We'll show you a variety of more advanced six-count moves.  Our overall goal is to raise your dancing to that next level!  Read More

Friday, October 2nd, 2009, at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom is Swing Time's 9th Anniversary Celebration, featuring live & swingin' music by Charlie Vegas & the New Blues Combo!  The Celebration includes hours of live music & dancing (9:00pm-12:30am), a group swing-dance lesson (8-9pm; no partner needed), anniversary cake, prize giveaways, and a dance contest at intermission with $100 cash first prize!

Get ready to jump... get ready to rock... get ready to swing! ...with Tampa Bay's most exciting swingin' act, Charlie Vegas & the New Blues Combo!  This talented & energetic band features sax, drums, bass, and Charlie himself on guitar, harmonica & vocals.  The band is a hot commodity, recently backing doo-wop & rockabilly legends, The Coasters, Rosie Flores, and Wanda Jackson!  Whether it's uptempo & jumpin' or low down & gritty, these guys deliver a huge and varied repertoire of dance favorites... along with the power, the sound, and the excitement that'll pull you up out of your seat and get you onto your feet!

Swing Time is Florida's Premier Swing Event, held the first Friday of every month in Tampa Bay at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom.  The Gulfport Casino is located in the St. Petersburg area at 5500 Shore Blvd. S., Gulfport FL 33707.
