The All-Stars are a jumpin' 7-piece band featuring Liz Pennock on boogie-woogie piano, Dr. Blues on guitar, Mike Delaney on sax, Kim Harpo on harmonica, Jon Puhl on guitar, Don Cox on Bass, and Dennis McCarthy on drums. In honor of Veteran's Day... Swing Time! presents...
1940's USO Swing Dance
at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom
featuring the 18-Piece Ten O'Clock Big Band!
This Friday, November 12th

This Friday, November 12th... at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom... In honor of Veteran's Day, Swing Time presents our 6th Annual 1940's USO Swing Dance! WWII-era civilian or military attire is encouraged. The Ten O'Clock Band, Florida's Leading 18-Piece Big Band, will be decked out in their Army Air Corps khaki uniforms and they'll be swingin' for all the dancers, 9:00pm-12:30am. The event starts with a free group swing-dance lesson, 8-9pm (no partner needed). The evening includes prize giveaways, plus WWII-era decor and atmosphere.

The Ten O'Clock Band brings the big-band experience to Swing Time. When people speak of "the big bands", this is what they mean -- five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, plus piano, bass, guitar, drums, and vocals. The band's bold & brassy sound will fill the grand ballroom, with minimal need for amplification, letting participants experience the classic days of swing as it was meant to be played, heard, danced to, and otherwise enjoyed. Exciting soloists, excellent musicianship, and great coordination as a unit have earned the band rave reviews from dancers as well as fellow musicians across the Bay area!

Swing Time is Florida's Premier Swing Event, held one Friday each month in Tampa Bay at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom. The Gulfport Casino is located in the St. Petersburg area at 5500 Shore Blvd. S., Gulfport FL 33707.

SUNCOAST DIXIELAND JAZZ CLASSIC
SWING DANCE FRI NOV 19 AT SHERATON SAND KEY

Swing Time is gearing up to dance and perform at the Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Classic, happening November 18th-21st and featuring the best swingin' jazz bands from across the USA! Join us for the Swing Dance on Friday November 19th! The swing-dance lineup is phenomenal... playing the main ballroom (Jake's) at the Sheraton Sand Key are the following five bands. Tickets to the Swing Dance are $12 in advance or $18 day of event and can be purchased from the web site above. (Student Tickets are just $10 and admit one to an entire day and night of the Festival!) This is going to be a huge amount of fun!

With Thanksgiving on Thursday, the weekend starts Wednesday night, when Swing Time hosts a special evening of live music and swing dancing... Wednesday, November 24th, 2010, join in celebration at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night for Swing Time's Pre-Thanksgiving Bash! This huge swing-dance party is always one of the biggest Wednesday Swing Nights of the year, attracting not just locals but out-of-towners who are home for the holidays. The Bash features the hot swingin' roots & rockabilly of The Cadillac Bombers! It starts with a Blues Dance Bonus Lesson 6-7pm, followed by Swing Dance Lesson 7-8pm, then Live Music & Dancing 8-11pm. All ages are welcome, no partner is needed, and it all happens in the spectacular waterfront ballroom of the Gulfport Casino!

The Cadillac Bombers are a hot new six-piece outfit, rising stars of the international rockabilly scene! Not your typical rockabilly band, they bring a diverse mix of sounds & instrumentation, from bass to banjo, guitar to washboard. Since half the band members are longtime swing dancers, not only do they know their dance music, but you've probably danced with someone in the band! The Cadillac Bombers are a hot commodity at concerts, dances, road shows... wherever they play! In fact, they recently played the Citrus Bowl alongside the likes of Snoop Dogg, Sublime with Rome, Royal Crown Revue, and Reverend Horton Heat. The band just released their debut CD and they've booked their first European tour! At prior Swing Time appearances, The Cadillac Bombers rocked the house to rave reviews by dancers all around!
