Advancing Your Swing is the 6-7pm Bonus Lesson topic every Wednesday in January at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night! Learn Cool Moves, Footwork Variations, Multiple Turns, Dips, Leans, and more! Add style to your swing dancing. Become a better leader or follower, and get asked to dance much more often!

Saturday JAN 14th at Tampa Airport Marriott

Next Saturday JAN 14th, Swing Time hosts a pre-cruise kickoff dance party at the Tampa Airport Marriott (where out-of-town dancers will be staying). All dancers, whether cruising or not, are invited to come dance, meet and greet, and have fun at this pre-cruise mixer! This is your chance to dance with swing enthusiasts from California, Florida, and beyond who are sailing the next day on the Sea Swing Sensation / Lindy Hoppers of the Caribbean dance cruise! The party runs 8pm to midnight, with a dance lesson 7-8pm. Admission is $8. It'll be held in the Grand Ballroom West on the lobby level of the Marriott. Join us!

Parking & Directions: Carpooling is recommended to save on parking. The Tampa Airport Marriott is located inside the terminal at the Tampa International Airport. So head to Tampa International Airport and follow signs to the Marriott. Use the hotel's parking lot. Show us your parking ticket when you buy your dance admission and we'll give you a voucher for $3 off the $6 parking fee (so parking will cost a net $3 per car). Note that you could instead park in airport parking, but it'll be more expensive and you won't get the $3 off.

"Sam - It's Dianne Schiller and I was wondering if you might announce that funeral services were held for Glenn today [12/28] at the Bay Pines Military Cemetery in St. Petersburg. Glenn passed away on December 15 and was an avid dancer here at the Casino for many years as well as a member of the swingdance troupe with Dianne, performing at many functions in Florida. Thank you."

Sunday JAN 29th 2012, the Carrollwood Cultural Center hosts an afternoon Big-Band Swing Dance & Concert with live music by the Sounds of Swing Orchestra. Dancing starts at 2pm.
