Swing Time Newsletter — Monday JUNE 30th 2014

This Wednesday July 2nd is the Gulfport Casino Swing Night!  Learn Shim Sham in just 60 minutes!  Shim Sham Lesson 6-7pm...Swing Lesson 7-8pm...Dancing 8-11pm.  Just $7 includes both lessons and the dance; students get 2-for-1 admission.  Enter the prize drawing to win admission ($50 value) to Celebrate Sinatra in Tampa!  If your birthday's coming up, celebrate your birthday at the Gulfport Casino Swing Night.

This Sunday July 6th is Ballroom Fusion Night at the Gulfport Casino!  Last month's debut of Ballroom Fusion Night brought 200+ dancers together to enjoy an exciting night of social dancing in the Gulfport Casino's grand ballroom...join us this Sunday for the encore event!  Learn Cha Cha 6-7pm and Cha Cha/ Swing Fusion 7-8pm.  Lessons are followed by Dancing 8-11pm, with a Ballroom Musical Mix 8-10pm and a Fusion Mix 10-11+pm...most songs support multiple dances.  Admission is $7.  No partner's needed.  All ages & skill levels are welcome!

Get ready to learn the Cha Cha at Sunday July 6th's Ballroom Fusion Night!  Though it started in the 1950's, Cha Cha today is danced to a wide selection of modern pop hits.  Cha Cha is an easy-to-learn alternative (and stepping stone) to West-Coast Swing, and can be danced to much of the same music.  Special guest instructor, Juan Uribe from Dance Forever studio, leads the 6pm Cha Cha lesson.

Cha Cha/Swing Fusion is the 7-8pm Intermediate Lesson.  You'll learn how to transfer your entire Cha Cha repertoire (including what you learned in the prior lesson) to swing dancing!  You'll learn more-advanced moves in the Cha Cha that draw from swing dance concepts, plus how to transition back & forth between both dances...during the same song!  Swing Time's Sam leads the 7pm Cha Cha/Swing Fusion lesson.
